Penderyn Distillery is delighted to confirmed plans to install additional whisky stills enabling us to increase our current output and target new international markets.
We're almost back to normal (Thursday 24th January)
Here in the village of Penderyn you can never guarantee a sunny summer, but our autumns and winters are wonderfully consistent: expect cold, rain, and snow high up in the mountains and you’ll rarely be disappointed.
A special edition whisky produced at Penderyn Distillery has been named “European Whisky of the Year” by top whisky expert Jim Murray. This single cask, single malt whisky is a celebration of Swansea City Football Club’s entry into the English Premier League and is an award winner in the 2013 edition of “The Whisky Bible”
Nest is one of Penderyn's tour guides, and has been with us since the Visitor Centre first opened in June 2008. If you've been here to visit, you may well have met her!
Penderyn’s flagship single malt whisky, the Madeira Finish, has won the Best World Whisky title at the 2012 International Whisky Competition.

Today is St David’s Day, the patron saint of Wales. Many of us celebrate in our own way maybe by wearing a daffodil or leek or a favourite of mine, eating Welsh cakes laced with Penderyn! At the distillery celebrations will be low key as we still need to keep production going.
You don't need to be a whisky expert to guess that the busiest time of year for a whisky distillery is the run up to Christmas, and Penderyn is no exception - each year, we work hard to get our quota of whisky out.
We've always prided ourselves on being a forward-thinking distillery: our whisky is produced unlike any other, in a copper pot still designed by Dr David Faraday which allows us to distil clean, flavourful spirit using a single still.
Just a quick update from us this week: we'll be introducing a new special edition to celebrate a recent Welsh sporting triumph.
We love the latest Visit Wales campaign – if you haven’t seen it, a young Londoner named Piers Bramhall was ambushed (although we're sure not many people would object to being ambushed by Joanna Page and a Welsh choir) and shown the very best Wales has to offer.
Wales’ only gin, produced here at the Penderyn Distillery, has been acclaimed as one of the world’s best after winning Gold at the 2011 International Wine and Spirit Competition – the spirit industry’s “Oscars”.
