St David's Day Cocktail Competition

To celebrate St David's Day our London Agent, Rob Whitaker, arranged a Penderyn cocktail competition which took place on Sunday 1st March between the bar staff at restaurants and bars which form the Social Eating Group Company under the ownership of leading chef Jason Atherton.

Bar staff from Pollen Street Social, Little Social, The Blind Pig at Poland Street and Berners Tavern in the Edition Hotel  all participated in the good-natured but competitive event to produce winning cocktails not only using Penderyn Madeira finish whisky, but also an extra Welsh ingredient. We had laver bread, barra brith, welsh cakes all of which improved the cocktails and several containing tea and one even containing lamb broth! Winner of the best name was Silence of the Lambs with Under Madeira Wood a close second.

The two winners have won a trip to Penderyn in May so congratulations to Carla Molina Ruiz of Pollen Street and to Alessandro Pitanti of Berners Tavern.
