Penderyn Whisky deal an example of strong Welsh exports says Welsh Government

In a press release by the Welsh Government on 9th October, Penderyn distillery was congratulated by Economy Minister Edwina Hart on our contract to supply whisky to Taiwan.

Last month, the company announced a deal with a company in Taiwan - its first substantial step into Asia - to export 10,000 bottles of co-branded Penderyn Whisky. The first order under the deal, worth in the region of £200,000, has already been shipped to Taiwan, and the company will travel to Taipei next week for the official launch with 300 Chinese press representatives and a tasting event for 1000 people over two days. A second order will be going to both Taiwan and China.

The Minister said "I have been impressed with the distillery, in particular with the new facilities which have allowed the Welsh Whisky Company to boost production and meet increased demand for their products both at home and abroad".

Ms Hart went on to say "This deal is an example of how Welsh companies are performing very strongly when it comes to exports."
