Mimosa Kitchen & Bar in Cardiff Bay has been awarded Restaurant of the Month by Penderyn for November. The panel of judges all agreed that this vibrant establishment is a commendable example of how to create and run a contemporary bar with a buzzing atmosphere, whilst still having restaurant quality food and service. Since opening in May the restaurant, backed by Hollywood star Ioan Gruffudd, has quickly become renowned for its excellent service, locally sourced food, extensive wine and drinkPenderyn Rest of Month - Mimosa bar menu and lively atmosphere.

At lunch conversation hums with a mixture of business people, shoppers and visitors and in the evening it attracts a discerning clientele who want somewhere special to spend a night out.

The judges award the Penderyn Restaurant of the Month following recommendations by a panel of inspectors who visit the restaurants anonymously and over a period of time to ensure that the chosen restaurant regularly exceeds its criteria, which are:

  • Excellent food, wines and drinks
  • Warm, knowledgeable, friendly staff
  • Relaxing, elegantly designed surroundings

interior01Mimosa Kitchen & Bar shows exemplary management, organisation and culinary skills so it has been singled out to receive the Penderyn Restaurant of the Month Award. The cuisine takes advantage of the best of Welsh produce and its menu is suited to its location in the heart of Cardiff Bay.

The panel of judges was impressed by the staff’s energy and professionalism.  There is a real passion about perfection, and it was plain to see that they want every meal to be the best and that every customer is important.  The wine list was also praised for the number of different wines available by the glass and the variety of cocktails that were made from scratch with fresh fruit juices.

The Penderyn Restaurant of the Month Award is given to those select restaurants that are amongst the best in Wales offering innovative food, good service and warm welcome.
